Thanks for the patch anyway :)

FWIW, one trick I use to paste properly formatted patches in web forms
is the "mozex" extension.  I've configured it to pop up an Emacs frame,
which uses UTF-8 fonts, and I use my favorite editor to work on text
fields of web forms.

I can't bear typing text in a small text frame, where custom Javascript
code takes over my keyboard shortcuts and makes the editing session a
real PITA, so "mozex" is the best Firefox extension ever for me.  It may
help you in similar cases in the future too :)
