As the port message says the nvidia module should be loaded from rc.conf, n=

from loader.conf. Using loader.conf has a high chance of crashing. The prob=
lem
iirc is that for whatever reason at loader time we can't grow the reserved
memory for the kernel (efi reserved memory or something like that) and that=

when you see it hang.

We should definitely update the handbook if it still recommends loader.conf.
