I upgraded to 7.0-BETA2, then BETA3 and BETA4. I never upgraded to any of the release candidates but finally made a fresh install when 7.0-RELEASE came out. I installed apache and php on that machine with the exact same config as the BETAS but started receiving various complaints from scattered people that they could not see the website. In every case, they could ping the machine, but their attempts to connect to port 80 or 443 via a web browser or even telnet would time out. I have finally downgraded to 6.3-RELEASE and the problem is solved. I installed apache-2.2.6, the same as on the 7.0-RELEASE version with the exact same config, but this time everyone can see the website. I'm no expert in FreeBSD, so this is about all the information I can provide, but I would love to continue using this OS moving forward, so I hope this problem can be fixed. I would love to know if anyone else encounters this problem and if there is a fix. Is there a page where bug fixes are posted? Thanks so much and I just want to say what a great OS FreeBSD is! Mike >How-To-Repeat: This is a VERY hard problem to repeat, as it only happened to about 20 of the 5000 regular users of the website. >Fix: >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted:
