Subject: earlier "holographic shell" in 2.2-ALPHA install procedure

I would like the ability to launch the "emergency
holographic shell" earlier in the install process,
say from a menu entry somewhere.  Mainly I would
like to be able to launch it before "ifconfig"
is called in network installs.
