Then I searched the knob to switch on hyperthreading on my P4. I was surprised, that it was already active, although I had ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/CERT/advisories/FreeBSD-SA-05:09.htt.asc in my mind. Now I see two possibilities: 1. The described problem does not affect the current 6.0/7.0 codebase. In that case sorry for disturbing you. 2. In 6.0/7.0 hyperthreading was left on, because it was a development branch only. In that case somebody should set the default switch to off before the 6.0-RELEASE (better before the next BETA version) and write a note in UPDATING.
