I have a hayes 2400bps smartmodem attached to sio0. I know its slow, but its just for a test. Now if I go to user PPP and run "term" I get garbage. I run tip to cuaa0 and I get garbage. PPP fails. There is some traffic to the modem by the lights. When I say garbage, there are all these funky characters streaming accross the screen as I hit keys on the keyboard. I see in the documentation at www.freebsd.org, Hayes' modems are special so to speak. Any help?
