Does it have its own ISA card? If it does, it is a Sony proprietary CD-ROM that uses the scd0 device (not IDE). Go into the kernel configuration when you boot off of the floppy and disable the devices you do not need, but make sure to leave that one. If you have FreeBSD already installed, make sure to include scd0 in any custom kernels you make. -- Crist J.
