I installed 2.2.7 on my home computer last night but I can not seem to get the modem to work properly. The modem I am using right now is an Aztec SoundIII soundcard/modem, which I know is not the best but I can not afford to purchase another right now. I recompiled the kernel with controller pnp0, which revealed that the card is an AZT3000, I then added that to the sio.c, recompiled and still it will not seem to recognize the modem. I then used pnpinfo to see what it listed, and the modem there was listed as AZT4001, so I added that to sio.c, recompiled and still no luck. Then at the boot prompt I tried pnp 1 0 os irq0 3 drq0 0 port0 0x2f8 An ls then showed me that it had the device listed, but it was not enabled, so I entered pnp 1 0 enable and then let it boot up and still I got no response from the modem at all. Does anyone have any suggestions or should I just forget this part until I get another modem?
