Really, this is an Apache question and not a FreeBSD question and you might get more help over at apache.org.

Having said that, a good place to start for info would be the book:

Linux Apache Web Server Administration by Charles Aulds. Although it is for Linux, you will find that everything to do with Apache is almost identical on FreeBSD.
