> 2. The commands that this particular printer understands. I had the same "information" problem with a Apple LaserWriter 12/640 PS. I ended up down-loading the PPD file (printer description). You find it somewhere on the HP site. It is the file the print managers in MacOS and Windows95/NT use for creating the settings dialogs to the user and the PostScript code to send to the printer. The file is messy but in ascii format. It wasn't hard to find out the options and the PostScript code to do it with some guesswork. Hint: Look for the text "OpenUI" ;-) /kgb
