It can be obtained at ftp.freebsd.org or at any of it's mirror sites. Depending on your connection, etc. FreeBSD can be installed in a matter of less than an hour. As for the UNIX book by Sybex, I wouldn't really know. However, there is an excellent manual for FreeBSD called "The FreeBSD Handbook" (available both online and in hardcover) located at http://www.freebsd.org/handbook. If you are interested in purchasing the hardcover, I beleive that www.freebsdmall.com has it in stock, although i'm not sure as i've only used the online version ;).
