I can *suggest*, but not guarantee.  Point an editor at line 38 or so of 
/usr/ports/converters/php5-mbstring/work/php-5.1.2/ext/mbstring/oniguruma/regerror.c:38
and change the include??  Not a job for the faint of heart, but what's 
to lose?

Of course, you may have tried that already.
