Hi guys, I'm using FreeBSD for quite a while. Until release series 4 I had a very good success using the OS to production servers. That changed in release series 5. I had nothing but bugs after bugs on all versions 5. Now that 5.4 is "production quality" I'd like to report and help fix 2 problems still present in FreeBSD 5.4 release 32 bit i386. - Adaptec driver problem. Unstable on Supermicro Opteron server - 1 CPU running in 32 bit mode 4 GB RAM. To help developers I can do testing on request and return the results to you. The system is rock-solid on Linux 32 and 64 bit. - vinum loosing config data after reboot. I know that vinum is a separate entity - should I ask them ? Basically on a pair of Seagate NL 35 disks vinum create the volume (plexes , etc.) no problem but after reboot all it's lost. I'm not sure how I can help but I'm open to suggestions.
