The upgrade is pretty much straight-forward (done it twice, so far) -
but a backup is always is a good idea. Once you've upgraded, you can
inspect the files in /etc/upgrade for differences and see whether you
want to merge them into /etc.
Notes for the upgrader:
1. Print out /etc/fstab before you start.
2. Print current h/w from dmesg.
