Yes, I am using KMS.

#xbacklight 
No outputs have backlight property

#pciconf -lv
vgapci1@pci0:0:2:0: "This is the intel graphics card address"

I tried some commands like the following, I think the syntax is right as
they don't print errors, yet no change in brightness still:
#pciconf -w pci0:0:2:0 f4.b 44,44
#pciconf -w pci0:0:2:0 44 44
