Will 4.0-RELEASE turn into the 4-stable branch? Right now we have all three. 3-stable uses the tag RELENG_3, 4-stable uses RELENG_4, and 5-current uses '.'. The 4-stable branch was created first, then 4.0-RELEASE was tagged (using RELENG_4_0_0_RELEASE) as a snapshot of 4-stable. That's normally how releases work, they are a snapshot of the appropriate -stable branch. (3.0 was an exception to this.) -- Brooks -- Any statement of the form "X is the one, true Y" is FALSE.
