Unfortunately, <http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=ifconfig&sektion=8&manpath=FreeBSD+4.10-RELEASE> still doesn't mention polling, per "ifconfig(8) now prints the polling(4) status on the interface", but I will try to re-report against ifconfig next week.
