Dunno. Can you set that on a per-target basis? I think we only care about this for the 'installworld' target, and in that case we want to set it to the /bin/sh which was copied to a temp directory at the start of the processing for that target. Installword is done via a series of cascading targets, so maybe it will be fairly easy to solve this.
