But every time I shut my machine down the disk disappears when it reboots. The file system can be re-mounted, but again disappears when shut down. I am using the /stand/sysinstall menu to do all actions. Where am I going wrong? Do I have to run a manual command to update some system files? The disk is correctly detected during boot up as wd1. The file system when mounted works just fine.
