Looking at the audit trail on this, the evidence suggests that the 'wd' 
driver may have problems with operations beyond the 32GB mark, and that 
use of the LBA flag may be a viable workaround for this problem.

This is probably worth tracking down, or at least verifying for errata 
purposes.
