Take a loot at your named.root (cache) file and make sure you have the 
approriate addresses for the root nameserers. If you do not, just query 
the addresses by using someone else's nameservers like
nslookup
>server [ip address of a ns here]
then query for the addresses of the root nameservers and plug them in.
