Does anyone else do that? The bind sources use #include so FreeBSD should *definitely* put the headers in /usr/include/isc/. In my experience, eventlib is really cool so I think this change is good, but it does tie FreeBSD to the bind 8 sources. I understand that bind 9 is based on completely new libraries so when FreeBSD upgrades its DNS server the bind 8 sources will have to remain in order to support libisc. I also wonder about how well maintained libisc will be in the future: when I used it I found a few little problems which didn't really need fixing in the bind distribution but would benefit from being sorted out if the library were used for more general purposes. [The code I wrote using eventlib is owned by my previous employer and I can't remember the details of the problems that I had; however I did submit bug reports to the bind developers.] Tony. -- en oeccget g mtcaa f.a.n.finch v spdlkishrhtewe y dot@dotat.at eatp o v eiti i d. fanf@covalent.net To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe cvs-all" in the body of the message
