The upshot is that apparently the MacBook doesn't tolerate prolonged full load any more. I gue= ss I have to open it up, clean it, remove dust etc, which may take a while. I'll also install Debian and give that a spin to see if this issue can be replic= ated on another OS. Of course, if this problem persists, this disqualifies the machine for any serious work, and thus FreeBSD (or any other OS, for that matter) will prob= ably not see any production use on it.
