I'm trying to fdisk a wd disk which stems from pre-2.0 (pre slicing) times in a running system. The disk presently looks like this: ******* Working on device /dev/wd2 ******* parameters extracted from in-core disklabel are: cylinders=1023 heads=160 sectors/track=63 (10080 blks/cyl) parameters to be used for BIOS calculations are: cylinders=1023 heads=160 sectors/track=63 (10080 blks/cyl) Warning: BIOS sector numbering starts with sector 1 Information from DOS bootblock is: The data for partition 0 is: sysid 6,(Primary 'big' DOS (> 32MB)) start 63, size 245889 (120 Meg), flag 0 beg: cyl 0/ sector 1/ head 1; end: cyl 243/ sector 63/ head 15 The data for partition 1 is: <UNUSED> The data for partition 2 is: <UNUSED> The data for partition 3 is: sysid 165,(FreeBSD/NetBSD/386BSD) start 245952, size 811440 (396 Meg), flag 80 beg: cyl 244/ sector 1/ head 0; end: cyl 1023/ sector 63/ head 159 I want to delete all partitions and create one for FreeBSD only. This is the geometry: wd2: 516MB (1057392 sectors), 1049 cyls, 16 heads, 63 S/T, 512 B/S Now what would be the correct fdisk settings to make this a 2.2 conformant disk? --Chris Christoph P. U.
