When brought to the single-user shell, I ran fsck and it worked. I asked a friend and I was told that it was a kernel panic and that it could possibly be a bug in the kernel. My questions are: 1.) What could have caused the kernel panic? The X0panic in /var/log is not the one caused by today's crash (I should upgade my X server). 2.) Would it be remotely feasible to have the troublesome program be removed entirely from memory?
