The characters in koi8-r, that are overwritten by koi8-u are pseudo-graphics, which are not used by any text. They _may_ be used by a program like Midnight Commander, but koi8-r disposes of some of some of the pseudo-graphics itself. The dialog-based programs (like sysinstall) look very funny with koi8-r (sysinstall, for example). According to the submitter (Olexander Kunytsa) OpenBSD accepted the single koi8-8x*.fnt...
