To clarify: The ungraceful bit was that I did this without taking the source machine down or out of production. So the clone had to fsck at boot, since all of its volumes were uncleanly unmounted. Otherwise it was a perfectly graceful operation. There was no negative commentary about FreeBSD or gmirror here. They worked perfectly, and the production box never missed a beat. -Snow
