I confirm that. In 2.2.1 and 2.2.2 vi displayed ISO characters
correctly, but this fails in 2.2.5. In fact, the setting of the
LANG environment variable was not needed in 2.2.1 and 2.2.2.
I have just set LANG=es_ES.ISO_8859-1, and now vi displays
messages in Spanish, but ISO chars sre still displayed in hex.
