I am in trouble, and need help urgently. The power failed, and after FreeBSD 3.1-RELEASE box rebooted, fsck failed to repair the disks. It then dropped into single user mode, and when I ran fsck manually, this is what it gave me, both for my / and /usr partitions. It's a 2.1 GB IDE disk, partitioned into a small 40 MB or so root partition, 128 MB swap and the rest is /usr: # fsck / ** /dev/rwd0s1a ** Last mounted on / ** Root file system ** Phase 1 - Check blocks and sizes ** Phase 2 - Check pathnames ** Phase 3 - Check connectivity ** Phase 4 - Check reference counts ** Phase 5 - Check cyl groups 1207 files, 21821 used, 27762 free (690 frgas, 3384 blocks, 1.4% fragmentation) ***** FILE SYSTEM STILL DIRTY ***** ***** PLEASE RERUN FSCK ***** When I re-run fsck, I keep getting the same error. I don't want to mount the partition for fear of corrupting something. I get a similar output for /usr Could anyone have any idea how I can fix this. Any help will be appreciated. -- Anand To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
