I think, I observed a change in the ACPI behaviour, too: on my laptop a FreeBSD 5-CURRENT was installed for testing. Now, after 5 is stable, I want to change fully to FreeBSD. But after updating to 5-STABLE, I observe the fans continously running (but not at full speed) though air is cold, and the laptop does not switch the power off anymore, when I do a "shutdown -p now".
