The "vesa: Ignoring device with a bound kernel driver" message comes from t=

x11-drivers/xf86-video-vesa port, the source file vesa.c.  However, the
ChangeLog file (the file literally named ChangeLog in the port work directo=
ry
after "make patch") shows no changes since September 2020.  Probably doesn't
help debug the problem, but I thought I'd mention it.  ChangeLog says that =
the
check for a kernel driver bound to the device was introduced December 8, 20=
10.
