Here is the problem:
as mentioned in apache, if rlimt_t is not previously typedef'ed, the
compilation will fail.

solution: somewhere @ line 358 in conf.h where 
          ``#elif defined(__FreeBSD__) || defined(__bsdi__)'' resides, add
          the line ``typedef int rlim_t;''

and everything will work just fine :-)
