No problem. That's all that I've managed to get working, too. I've been
going through the source for binutils-2.9.1 and gcc-2.8.1 comparing the
patches for binutils-2.8.1 and gcc-2.7.2.2. So far all the patches I've
gone through have been applied. I still can't seem to get the newer
toolchain working, though.

I have reached the same results you have; I've compiled the toolchain, and
I can compile simple test programs. I will do more testing with more
complex compilation over the next week.
