Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG Greetings, I just purchased an APC BackUPS 500 to prevent my server from going down in the frequent power blips that occur in my area. I was looking through /usr/ports, but could not find a suitable program for my unit. I was only able to find info for control of the BackUPS Pro and SmartUPS devices. There is a serial interface on the back that states that it can be used for power management, but I'm not sure what I need to do to use it to trigger a shutdown in the event of a sustained power outage.
