I have received a few different responses regarding the development of LDAP
on FreeBSD. Most of the email I've gotten suggests that even though this
may be made to work, that the current LDAP code is generally not
recommended for production. There are a couple of companies, most notably
critical-angle, that have different options for their products.

Of note, and of interest, is someone at SUNET (a few people) is working on
a complete rewrite of the LDAPv3 specification, creating a new free
Directory Server (not sure what it's called). I was contacted by someone
working on it, but do not know when they will have a beta for testing.

Anyways, I'm wondering if there's been any progress on the available stuff.
I've kept my CVSUP of ports current.

Thanks....
