Hi,
I think there is a need for a .mk file that defines an
environment for building into /usr/local. Perhaps something
like this:
bsd.local.mk:
#
# The include file <bsd.local.mk> set common variables for
# using the BSD makerules in the /usr/local/ hierarchy.
#
BINDIR?= /usr/local/bin
LIBDIR?= /usr/local/lib
LINTLIBDIR?= /usr/local/libdata/lint
OBJDIR?= /usr/local/obj
SHLIBDIR?= ${LIBDIR}
SHAREDIR?= /usr/local/share
MANDIR?= /usr/local/man/man
Then in my Makefiles I can do stuff like this:
SCRIPTS= mail_alias.perl
MAN8= mail_alias.8
beforeinstall:
.for script in ${SCRIPTS}
${INSTALL} -c -o ${BINOWN} -g ${BINGRP} -m ${BINMODE} \
${.CURDIR}/${script} ${DESTDIR}${BINDIR}/${script:R}
.endfor
.include <bsd.local.mk>
.include <bsd.prog.mk>
Is this a good idea? If so, who is the person in charge of
the .mk files?
Best regards,
Gary Howland
