Compare the ifconfig_ep0=" ... " lines in your /etc/rc.conf to
/etc/defaults/rc.conf and/or any rc.conf.local you omay have lying about.
Could be /etc/rc.conf is clobbering the settings with an older/previous <?>
value ...
