That is me. I run a "make fetch" in /usr/ports every day, and I
look after ftp.za.freebsd.org (aka ftp.internat.freebsd.org), and
some to-be-announced mirrors.

Not only is it desirable, it is _necessary_. the distfiles area
fills up far too fast, and looking for stale disfiles is a nightmare.

Hell,yes!

For info - my distfiles is nearly complete. On a 486dx4/100 w/48MB and
all SCSI disks, the scan-for-distfiles bit takes about 8mins (!)
