It enables the mixer functions. The clue that you needed it was the confusing error message "NOTE! SB Pro support required with your soundcard!" Not a very obvious error message. The SB Pro does not need the secondary DMA channel (drq 5) so perhaps you can replace device sbxvi0 at isa? drq 5 with this device sbxvi0 at isa?
