OK then you should look at the suggestion Doug gave to the submitter of that PR. In order to be useful, you need to give more information and also, some things should be made sure first before you enter a formal Problem Report. It is probable that people will have more questions to you but it is nice to prepare beforehand. I suggest you read http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/articles/problem-reports/article.html which is about submitting useful PRs. Also, it may be useful to check with people if they had the same problem and if they found a workaround by first asking on the freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list. You should mention the exact hardware setup you have there, along with BIOS revisions, if any prior FreeBSD release worked on this system, if other OSs were installed successfully on it etc. Setting certain options in your BIOS also may have the desired result, but we do not know unless you give more information. > This is during pre-install, I have removed all unused drivers and reset my bios etc. I am a newbie and am hoping to learn FreeBSD as I have done with Sun Solaris, SCO, Redhat 6.2, 7, 7.2. Good luck with that, I think that you will receive plenty of help by asking the right questions. Welcome to FreeBSD! > (I hope this isn't a mailing list, because I am not subscribed) ;) Well, it is:-) But no problem. You could subscribe to it but IMHO it is a better idea to start with freebsd-questions and freebsd-newbies both at freebsd.org, because there are people who can help you there and also you can find other newbies there too. If later it is determined that you have found a bug and you will be asked to file a PR, you will be updated on the status of it without being subscribed to this mailing list because the PR system takes care of that automatically. For more info on mailing lists see: http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/eresources.html#ERESOURCES-MAIL In general, if you are a newbie, I recommend the FreeBSD Handbook, which is available online here: http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/ or later can be installed locally on your FreeBSD system if you select the "doc" distribution when installing. (but first you have to get that far:-) Wish you best of luck with FreeBSD! -- Regards: Szilveszter ADAM Szombathely Hungary To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-bugs" in the body of the message
