What's missing is the *specific* software that some businesses want on the desktop. As a general class, everything most business want is available. What's missing is vertical market software, and the ability to exchange files that use a some proprietary formats. If you're not dealing with one of those two cases, then FreeBSD works just fine for the desktop.
