My old 3c589B setup program would run the point enabler if the card wasn't
loaded.  I don't know if it'll work for the D rev though.  I've also had
problems with the setup program not liking my PCCARD controller, a Cirrus
Logic derviative.  I have a Digital HiNote VP 575.
