I have the following situation. On my FreeBSD 3.2 RELEASE, I have installed leafnode+-2.6 from the ports and I've put the line nntp stream tcp nowait news /usr/local/sbin/leafnode in inetd.conf. Then I wanted to restrict the access to a specific [host]. I have tried putting the following lines into hosts.allow: leafnode : [host IP] : allow nntp : [host IP] : allow but to no avail: [host] couldn't connect and tcpd (following the instruction `twist /bin/echo "You are not welcome to use %d from %h."` from hosts.allow) issued the message: "You are not welcome to use d from [host]." What I did next was putting the line d : [host IP] : allow into hosts.allow and it worked! Can somebody explain what has happened and what is this "d" daemon? I'm completely confused.
