I too had reset problems under 2.2.12, even with the
aic7xxx-5.1.20-2.2.12.patch. My U2W with IBM DRVS09V (LVD) drive was going
into reset loops during boot. It was fine under stock 2.2.10.

I was running Adaptec's 2.11 bios in my 2940U2W. I went to their site and
noticed they had a new 2.2 bios. I followed the instructions, flashed the
new bios, and have had no further problems. You might check your bios level
in the card and update it to 2.2 if yours is an earlier rev.

Hope this helps!

Michael
