Description
When connecting to server xchat doesnt send enough parameters for
USER variable to server. I tried versions 1.6.4 and 1.7.1 from ports
and problem exist in both versions. Here is output:

 --- Connecting to eu.undernet.org (62.250.14.6) port 6667..
 --- Connected. Now logging in..
--- AUTH :*** Looking up your hostname
 --- AUTH :*** Checking Ident
--- AUTH :*** No ident response
--- AUTH :*** Found your hostname
--- USER :Not enough parameters <-- this is the problem

How-To-Repeat
Just try to connect to any IRC server :)

Fix
I have to type:
/raw USER aaa aaa aaa aaa
and then the server let me in.
I know that this is not original xchat problem because I used
xchat 1.6.4 under linux and there were no problems.

  Hi,

Enter a username in X-Chat => Server-List. This should fix your problem.
Entering something in both username+realname+nickname(s) would be even
better. Also consider running an ident daemon.

  Does that help?

  Cheers,

 State-Changed-Why:
This is pilot error. Both xchat ports work properly when configured
 correctly.

Anders,
I filled up all fields (username+realname+nickname(s)) in
X-Chat => Server-List  as I always did since X-Chat 1.4.0 but that
doesn't help, that's why I reported this problem. I have been using X-Chat
in various versions of Linux and FreeBSD 4.2 and I never had this problem.
I thougt that 1.6.4 from ports have some problems, so I upgraded it to 1.7.1
from ports but I had the same problems. X-Chat does not need identd to work
properly. BTW, ksirc works properly.
Jim,
What do you think under "pilot error" and "when configured correctly"?
There's not much to configure on X-Chat and it is not my first time using it.
If I am the only person with this problem you can consider it as pilot error,
and close this case. Can you tell me what I have to configure, so my X-Chat
can work properly.
Thanks,
Goran Pejkovski
