Not a foolproof one, but what I usually do is 1) use pib to find all
the packages that have "gnome" in the name or description 2)
pkg-delete -f those packages 2) do a "make clean" in, say, gnome-core
3) note the names of the packages cleaned and do a pkg-delete -f on
each of them.
