So my question is - is there any free (maybe GPL) > mail klient that uses MAPI ? (checked - no pop3 and smtp service Though there are several clients allowing connections to the (in some fields basically broken) POP3 implementation of Exchange, I guess you'll have a hard time finding a free / open source software package connecting to MAPI. Basically, MAPI is a highly proprietary protocol Exchange and Outlook are using not only for transferring e-mails but also for all the other stuff you might want to do with Exchange (centralized appointment scheduling and groupware working, for example). Given that, you might=20 (a) want to set up your Exchange host to at least support standardized e-mail protocols like POP3 and SMTP - if you're the admin of that box, this shouldn't be too difficult, given that you still can't use the groupware/scheduling stuff, (b) check for some commercial MAPI connectors for free software (IIRC, there is one by ximian made for the evolution mailreader). > working on exchange) 2. Dunno about both SAP and Tivoli but about the web frontends of several document managemt systems we are working with, and by now I am happily using Mozilla|Firebird on both Win32 and *BSD/Linux without any trouble. :) Cheers, Kris --=20 unschuldig? nicht verd=E4chtig? unbeobachtet? vergi=DF es ... gegen eine gesellschaft der totalen =FCberwachung - aufwachen und mitmachen: http://www.stop1984.org
