But (almost) nothing ran because of the missing shared lib. On the other hand: I have not but grief with 4.0 & X on Alpha. Varies from system lockups to completely hosed filesystems when running x11perf. This is on both Miata MX5 and Aspen Alpine (EB64+) systems with various S3 and Mach64 VGA cards.
