Attempting to circumvent the normal process resulted in both unnecessary delays, and an inferior product, as well as eliminating the possibility of a fruitful discussion with the right people which could have avoided both problems. 2. That lessons seems not to have been learned, as the discussion continues on the cvs* list. A far more constructive option at this point would likely be to move the discussion of host best to promote the foundation and its goals on our web site to doc@.
