While Looking at the NetBSD ports tree I've seen that they have many wishful features we do not have: - One can have several distfiles with different endings like .bzip2 and .tar.gz and ports handles this and extract it. - One can say "SITES_$DISTFILE" and the distfile only gets fetched form this location. Ver useful if you have many distfiles on different locations - They have a Conflict mechanism. - The support previous versions of dependency with a regular expressions mechanism. I bet there are a lot more improvments. Can we integrate them into the FreeBSD ports tree ? What do you think ?
